HelloDive launch in-person dive talks for the Chinese Community in Australia and New Zealand

In collaboration with PADI and top local dive centres, HelloDive has launched a new series of in-person dive sharing events across Australia and New Zealand.

Designed for the growing Chinese-speaking diving community in the region, the events aim to provide engaging content, foster connections, and create more opportunities for divers and ocean enthusiasts to meet, learn, and explore together.

The first event took place on 18 January in Auckland, in partnership with Auckland Scuba, a PADI 5-Star Dive Centre renowned for its high-quality and structured training. With Chinese-language instruction now available, the centre is welcoming a wider community of divers. The event was fully booked the same evening it was posted on Xiaohongshu. Participants were evenly split between certified divers and newcomers interested in taking their first plunge—highlighting the strong potential of the Chinese diving market in New Zealand.

The second stop was 15 March in Sydney, in collaboration with Abyss Scuba Diving, the largest PADI CDC centre in New South Wales. The event featured Liu Mengbo, a respected PADI Course Director who has personally certified over 200 divers annually and actively nurtures the local Chinese-speaking dive community. Many attendees were already divers or students at the centre, creating a lively and knowledgeable atmosphere.

Both events covered popular dive travel destinations across Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand, with plenty of practical tips and itinerary inspiration. Thanks to support from PADI, lucky participants also received branded prizes during a lucky draw. Some attendees even enrolled in dive courses on the spot, ready to unlock the wonders of our oceans.

As the Green Fins Outreach Partner, HelloDive continues to promote responsible marine tourism. The events also served as an educational platform to introduce divers to eco-friendly diving practices, such as reducing marine impact and protecting fragile ecosystems—encouraging long-term stewardship of the ocean from the very start of a diver’s journey.

Ocean Au, PADI’s Dive Marketing Executive for Asia, expressed strong support for the initiative: “While digital channels allow us to reach large audiences, there’s something special about connecting face-to-face. These in-person events build trust, strengthen the local dive community, and are a meaningful way to support PADI dive centres on the ground.”

Following the success of the Auckland and Sydney events, HelloDive plans to continue this sharing series in more cities across Australia and New Zealand—bringing divers together to celebrate, connect, and dive into new possibilities.
