2023 Shenzhen ADEX: A new chapter for China's marine industry

  • DRT

In November 23 to 26, 2023, the Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) took place at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, drawing enthusiastic participation from numerous divers. As a crucial part of the China Marine Economy Expo (CMEE), this edition of ADEX not only sparked a fervent response within the diving industry but also served as a vital platform for the international exchange of China's water leisure tourism industry and market resources.

A glorious 29-year journey

Since its establishment in 1994, ADEX has stood as the longest-running ocean industry event in Asia, showcasing the latest trends and innovative technologies in the diving industry. Initiated by Singapore's Underwater360, the largest underwater sports publishing group in Asia, ADEX's influence extends beyond commercial exhibitions, encompassing global diving travel, industry forums, mermaid parties/events, and charity banquets. Recognised by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations as a "Sustainable Ocean Ambassador," ADEX gathers global leaders dedicated to ocean exploration and sustainable development, establishing itself as a leading platform for the market leaders in marine tourism and diving industries.

ADEX lands at CMEE

The collaboration between ADEX and the CMEE for the first time signifies a deep integration of these two major events. Since relocating to Shenzhen in 2019, the China Marine Economy Expo has become a guiding light for China's ocean economic development and a crucial platform for promoting global cooperation in the ocean economy. With the theme of "Open Cooperation, Win-Win Sharing," the expo is committed to deepening international exchanges and cooperation, promoting high-quality development of the ocean economy.

ADEX's participation injects new vitality into CMEE, making it more international. During the exhibition, ADEX, guided by the core principles of professionalism, market orientation, internationalisation, and branding, provides robust support for China's strategies for ocean dominance, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the construction of global ocean center cities.
